The opportunity

Reporting to the Vice President of Commercial Sales, we are hiring a Sales Associate with a passion for furniture and commercial design to work in close partnership with a Workplace Consultant. You will provide professional front-line sales and account support, delivering superior client experiences through proactive communication, responsiveness, and attention to detail. You will build your knowledge to consistently deliver outstanding results and execute complete, accurate, and timely solutions across multiple concurrent opportunities.

If you are actively looking for mentorship and development opportunities to accelerate your progression in an innovative and rewarding environment, join us in doing what matters most and providing exceptional projects for our clients together.

This is an existing, full-time vacancy, working 3 days per week on-site at our Mississauga showroom.

Who you are

You are early in your career, ambitious, and highly motivated to learn. You have a passion for commercial design and a genuine interest in how spaces influence performance, collaboration, and culture.

You want to deepen your expertise in product knowledge, workplace solutions, and industry trends, positioning yourself as a trusted advisor to clients. You are open to challenge, eager to stretch beyond your comfort zone, and committed to becoming a trusted contributor and future advisor within the organization.

You value inclusive, respectful, and cohesive environments where we encourage each other, share curiosity, and learn together.

What’s in for you

In-depth training to support your immediate and long-term career goals. As a Sales Associate, you are on a direct track to becoming a Workplace Consultant. The intent of this role is to prepare you to transition into a Workplace Consultant within approximately three years.   You will spend 12 weeks with each of our departments learning about our design and build process, project management, sales administration, and account management, before transitioning into a more autonomous, client-facing partnership with a Workplace Consultant.

A shared mission to do what matters most. We believe in real talk to get to resolutions. We own our work and encourage each other to accomplish great things. This is a place where curiosity and learning together are encouraged, reciprocation is key, and doing what matters most drives us.

A collaborative, environment. We have a great culture with amazing teams in both our Mississauga and Toronto showrooms, and we continue to offer flexible work model with regular time in our Mississauga and Toronto showrooms, as well as client and project site visits.  Our leadership is dedicated to growing the company by growing the strengths of our people. You will work directly with a Workplace Consultant and a Manager who is committed to transparent communication, structured coaching, performance feedback, and career progression planning.

What you will do

This role is designed as a deeply immersive learning journey across CTI’s full operation, preparing you to grow into a Workplace Consultant within a structured development path.

  • Develop insights into our operations. You will participate in a deeply immersive onboarding process, broken into four 12-week segments. During the design phase, you will listen to client calls to understand requirements, create drawings using CET software, and learn about office layout, perspective, and space utilization. During the project management  phase, you will participate in on-site installations, conduct deficiency walkthroughs, and attend scheduling and budget meetings with clients. In the account sales coordinator phase, you will enter orders, learn the software, and gain an understanding of what’s needed to execute jobs. Finally, you will partner with a workplace consultant to attend client meetings, conduct showroom tours, participate in client discovery meetings, pull together requirements, and create quotes while learning about vendors and budget alignment.
  • Support sales operations. You will manage core workflows, including order refinement, quote generation, sign-off, and acknowledgement processes. You will ensure all documentation and data are accurate, current, and aligned with client and vendor standards. You will proactively identify inefficiencies and recommend process improvements that enhance scalability and reduce turnaround times.
  • Develop commercial and client engagement capabilities. You will partner closely with a Workplace Consultant, supporting the full sales lifecycle while actively building your own capabilities. You will contribute to lead qualification, needs analysis, and the development of tailored solutions aligned to client requirements. You will support the creation of proposals, presentations, and service contracts, gaining exposure to complex, multi-service engagements while progressively taking on more ownership in client interactions and solution development.
  • Own the integrity of the sales and delivery process. You will play a critical role in ensuring sales orders are complete, accurate, and positioned for efficient execution. You will collaborate with internal teams to support smooth order processing, factory coordination, and delivery and installation activities. You will remain engaged throughout the lifecycle of each order, proactively identifying risks, resolving issues, and ensuring a seamless client experience from initial engagement through final delivery.
  • Measure performance and continuously improve. You will track and analyze key data points related to operational efficiency and sales performance, ensuring adherence to internal standards and processes. You will support the achievement of monthly, quarterly, and annual performance targets, developing a strong understanding of key business drivers and using data to inform decision-making and improve outcomes.
  • Uphold professionalism and organizational standards. You will operate with integrity, discretion, and accountability, adhering to corporate policies, confidentiality guidelines, and health and safety standards. You will represent the organization professionally in all client and internal interactions, contributing to a culture of excellence and client-centric service delivery.

What you bring

  • The experience. You have an aptitude for sales and an eye for design. You have excellent project coordination, time management, and organizational skills. You can uphold internal processes and procedures and identify areas for increased efficiency. You have exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills. You are proficient in Microsoft Office and can quickly learn new tools, including CRM platforms and sales enablement systems.
  • The interpersonal skills. You have exceptional communication skills. You share our belief in real talk and asking questions to obtain and verify detailed requirements. You are highly collaborative and sincerely appreciate diverse ideas and approaches. You can build trust, influence decisions, and work closely across teams. You are happy to jump in wherever and whenever needed, demonstrating a strong service mindset and team-first approach.
  • The accountability. You take ownership of your work and seek new opportunities to learn and grow. You are curious, energetic, and driven to perform independently and as part of a team. You are agile, ready to adapt to change as it comes, with the resilience to navigate an evolving sales environment, and committed to doing what matters most.
  • The flexibility. You have a valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle. You are willing and able to travel to client sites, meetings, and events as needed.
